The use of natural light is a feature of the house incorporating glass external walls spanning floor to ceiling. Natural materials and colours were used throughout the home creating a serene atmosphere, blending the modern extension with the existing period charm.

Clients brief was to add larger formal and informal living areas, 2 new bathrooms, laundry, large attic storeroom, underground watertank and BBQ.

This award winning project was beautifully designed by WJFA Architects. The front 3 main rooms and hallway of this semi-detached brick Edwardian house were retained and renovated. The rear of the property has a larger modern extension with large open plan living which have floor to ceiling glass panels overlooking a wrap around deck that connects the side and rear yards. The brilliant design eliminates any necessity for curtains or blinds which allows natural light to stream into all major living areas.

Low maintenance gardens, by award winning Franklin Landscaping compliments the new modern structure, which has extensive cantilever roofs and clean sharp lines. High quality fittings and fixtures are visible throughout the property. Other features include floating overhead joinery in the kitchen.

Art Nouveau Homes and WJFA Architects worked closely together to ensure that the fine detail of the design was met.
