Westbury St, St Kilda
These clients provided a brief involving the extension and renovation of this double fronted solid brick Edwardian home, allowing for larger living spaces and the addition of extra bedrooms upstairs for a growing family. The front of the house was maintained due to a heritage overlay, while the back of the house has been extensively extended, creating a large lounge/dining and kitchen area which overlooks a large rear deck, accessed by sliding glass doors.
DETAILS
A new laundry was added, the existing bathroom downstairs was fully stripped and renovated. A new staircase surrounded by open box joinery leads up to the 2 new bedrooms, storeroom and new bathroom.
Angled fin walls upstairs allow northern sunlight into the 2 bedrooms whilst still maintaining a private outlook. Skylights and highlight windows allow natural light into all habitable areas. This beautiful design integrates the old with the new without impacting on the original streetscape.
